Dear Employer,

Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, Peel District School Board, and The Learning Partnership’s Passport to Prosperity program are partnering to host the 4 th annual Mission Employable! Conference to be held May 9 and 10 of 2007. The past three years have been a great success and the 2007 conference will build on this success. This year’s event will take place over two days involving both school boards and up to 600 participants!

What is Mission Employable?

Mission Employable is aimed specifically at Grade 12 students entering the world of work this spring and summer. The primary purpose is to connect Grade 12 students with prospective employers.

Why would my company be interested in hiring a recent secondary school graduate?

Students who enter the workforce directly from secondary school statistically stay in their communities for most of their lives. They bring energy and enthusiasm to the workplace and will assist your company in developing a skilled workforce at a time when our demographics indicate an aging population.

Employers will have an opportunity to interview and hire entry-level employees and to provide recruitment and career information about their industry sector.

Registration Information

There is a registration fee of $100 dollars for the two days, which will include breakfast and lunch each day, and one presentation table. In addition, we invite employers to help further celebrate this event by donating door prizes for the numerous draws that will be held throughout the conference. Kindly refer to the registration form below for further details. The conference will take place at the Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton.

For more information, please contact Michelle Ouellette, Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board at 905-890-0708, extension 24524 or check the web at http://w3.dpcdsb.org/missionemp.

We eagerly look forward to your response and participation in this year’s Mission Employable!Conference.

Sincerely,
The Mission Employable! Committee
