Welcome, Parents!

As your teenager makes their way through secondary school and starts to think about different choices, be sure to check out class2careers.com, The Learning Partnership's Web site for Passport to Prosperity, powered by workopolis.com and funded by the Ontario Ministry of Education.

This website contains career exploration opportunities for secondary school students offered by employers in the Greater Toronto area. These opportunities include workplace tours, career talks, job shadowing, mentorship, work experience, and apprenticeship and cooperative education placements.

We invite you to browse through class2careers.com and see how GTA employers are supporting secondary school teachers and students through the Passport to Prosperity campaign. For example, if you are a student interested in finding a co-op placement, you can browse through coop placements (using search option 1) or use a keyword search to look for placements in the areas you are interested in, using search option 2. Option 3 identifies opportunities available to bilingual students and Option 4 helps you search for opportunities offered to students with special needs.

STEP 1: Search the site for available opportunities using the four different search options available.

STEP 2: Once you have found opportunities that your son/daughter is interested in, either bookmark the page, or e-mail the opportunity to yourself or child’s teacher.

STEP 3: Talk to your child’s teacher(s) about your choices. Teachers can make the arrangements for a specific opportunity for you.
