Welcome, Teachers!
As you are planning career exploration experiences for your students, such as career talks and cooperative education placements, be sure to check out class2careers.com, The Learning Partnership's Website for Passport to Prosperity, powered by workopolis.com and funded by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
This website contains career exploration opportunities for secondary school students offered by employers in the Greater Toronto area. These opportunities include workplace tours, career talks, job shadowing, mentorship, work experience, and apprenticeship and cooperative education placements.
We invite you to browse through class2careers.com and see how GTA employers are supporting secondary school teachers and students through the Passport to Prosperity campaign. Remember that, as a registered teacher, you can contact employers/The Learning Partnership by E-mail to indicate your interest in specific opportunities. We encourage you to let your colleagues, friends, relatives, and neighbours know about class2careers.com and how easy it is to use.
Using our site is simple!
Prenez note que vous pouvez même y trouver des opportunités bilingues.
Step 1:
Register. Once you register, you can save Opportunities you find interesting in your personal Opportunities List, and registration allows you to "Apply" for Opportunities. Applying will simply send notification to the Employer that you'd like to be contacted (it's just like a cover letter, or an introduction letter).
Step 2:
Log in or view your Personal Opportunities List. If you have already registered, log in. Once you log in, you can gain access to your personal Opportunities List, and the "Apply" button will also show up on all the Opportunities. If you are not logged in, we hide this "Apply" button, so that Students can browse the site. (Students should never register on our system.)
Step 3:
Search for Opportunities. After you log in, you can search for Opportunities using one of four Search Options – (1) Browse, (2) Keyword Search, (3) Search for Bilingual Opportunities, or (4) Search for Opportunities for Students with Special Needs. When you find an Opportunity you (or your Student) finds interesting, you can apply to that Opportunity by clicking on “Apply.” This will send off a notification by e-mail to the Employer that you are interested. The Employer should then be in contact with you. Many opportunities also list a telephone number for the Employer contact and you may contact these Employers by telephone, if convenient.
